Domestic & Family Violence Prevention Month – Walk for Awareness

EDON Place is hosting the Walk for Awareness event on Friday, May 16th, 2025, to mark Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Prevention Month. The event will begin at 7:15 am at Bywash Park (Cycling Track), Bundaberg South. Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month is an annual event held each May to raise awareness about the significant social and personal impacts of domestic and family violence, as well as the support available for those affected. Tragically, in Australia, at least one woman is killed every week by an intimate partner, and children are also often victims in these homicides. Despite ongoing efforts, statistics surrounding Domestic and Family Violence continue to rise within communities. Events like these and the opportunity to share educational resources are crucial in making a difference. Early intervention and education are key. We encourage families and children to attend as their involvement is vital in raising awareness. We believe that starting these conversations and holding events annually will help bring about meaningful change across our region. We look forward to seeing you there.
