Parts of the Wide Bay Burnett will get up to 39 degrees this week as heatwave conditions impact much of western and southern Queensland.
It won’t be as bad here in Bundaberg, but temperatures will still be up there.
A top of 30 degrees is forecast for Tuesday while the mercury will climb to 32 degrees later this week.
Forecaster Johnathan How says there’ll be little reprieve.
“Not really any rain in the outlook with sunny conditions for most days,” he says.
“We are getting into that peak heat season for southeast and central Queensland so we are seeing every day a lot of heat in the atmosphere and that’s really providing the stage for a lot of storms.
“It’s not until we get those kind of widespread storms in the next couple of weeks, even into December, that we start to see the temperature start to fall a little bit.
“So even though it is above average for this time of year it is pretty typical for Queensland.”
