Caravans destroyed in dealership fire

Dramatic scenes at an Avoca caravan dealership on Monday morning.

The alarm was raised around 10am with staff quickly stepping in to remove surrounding vans and gas cylinders.

It’s believed a lithium battery inside one of the vans started the blaze which quickly spread to a neighbouring caravan.

Multiple firefighting crews responded, closing nearby streets as thick, black smoke was sent into the air.

One person was treated for smoke inhalation and thankfully there were no serious injuries.

Firefighters have praised staff from the Jayco dealership for their quick response.

The business is now operating as normal.
