Multi-vehicle crash shuts Bruce Highway

The Bruce Highway is expected to be closed between Gin Gin and Miriam Vale for most of Tuesday following a serious crash involving multiple B-doubles.

The alarm was initially raised at Gindoran around 2am, it’s believed some of the trucks may have crashed into an already stationary vehicle.

Two ambulances, that were responding, also crashed into each other as smoke blanketed the area.

The paramedics had minor injuries and were able to keep treating patients and will be assessed at hospital later.

Five people were treated at the scene including a man in his 50s who suffered life threatening head, hip and leg injuries.

A man in his 20s was taken to Gladstone Hospital with significant injuries while another was transported to Bundaberg Hospital.

The other two patients declined transport to hospital.

Detours are in place from Gin Gin via Mulgrave Street into Bundaberg Gin Gin Road, Rosedale Road, Lowmead Road, Tableland Road through Fingerboard Road to Miriam Vale.
