A male is in a serious condition following a two-vehicle crash on Thursday morning.
Emergency services were called to the Gavin Street roundabout in North Bundaberg just before 5am.
Paramedics say a male patient suffered head injuries and was taken to hospital.
Diversions were in place but were cleared within the hour.
The incident comes the day after a fatal crash at Apple Tree Creek which killed a 70-year-old man.
Initial investigations indicate a grey Ford Everest collided head-on with a Silver Nissan Navara, closing the Bruce Highway for several hours.
The driver of the Nissan Navara died at the scene while a passenger in the same car was transported to hospital in a serious condition.
The driver and a passenger in the Ford Everest were taken to hospital in a stable condition.
Investigations are ongoing.
