The Royal Australian Mint has teamed up with Woolworths to give customers the chance to find limited edition coins in their change with any cash purchase!
“The Mint is proud once again to honor the Australian Olympic and Paralympic teams with dedicated coins,” said Royal Australian Mint CEO, Leigh Gordon.
“These keepsakes will be treasured for years to come, serving as a lasting reminder of the pride and achievement we feel for our athletes.”
Get ready for a new coin design released every fortnight over the next eight weeks!
First up is the ‘Community’ coin, featuring a pillar of the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) combined with the AOC logo.

Next, meet the ‘Allezaus’ coin, inspired by the popular European sports chant “Allez”, meaning “Let’s Go”. This coin showcases the Australian Olympic mascot, BK the kangaroo, breakdancing!
The ‘Olympism’ coin brings BK the kangaroo back, this time with boxing gloves and a beret in front of the iconic Eiffel Tower.
Meanwhile, the ‘Paralympics’ design features Lizzie, the frilled-neck lizard, playing the Paralympic sport of Goalball.
For collectors, the limited edition coin sets are also available for purchase from the Mint eShop, call centre, the Canberra Museum and Gallery, and participating Aus Post stores.
